Breaded Onion Rings 1500 g
Fine Fries Breaded Onion Rings are onion cut into rings, coated and shock-frozen. The technical difficulty in this product is getting the coating to hold: onion shrinks as it cooks and the coating can lift away as a hollow tube. Shock-freezing fixes the coating to the onion surface and prevents that.
In the kitchen, onion rings open a second hot side alongside fries. They run in the same fryer, need no separate preparation and sit on the menu with the same cost logic as fries — what differs is flavour and texture.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the coating sometimes come away from the onion?
Most often because the product was thawed. Thawing weakens the bond between onion and coating. Fried from frozen, it does not happen.
Can they be fried in the same oil as fries?
Yes, though crumb from the coating darkens the oil faster. Under heavy use, filter the oil more often.
Can they be baked?
They can, but the coating will not colour as evenly as in a fryer and the underside can stick to the tray. A wire rack improves the result.
